*MICAH 6:8*

“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?”

*SOUL SNACK*

It might seem a bit daunting at first when you hear the phrase ” What the Lord requires of you.” The truth is, what the Lord requires of us is quite beautifully simple & has a lot to do with how we treat others. One of the things He requires us, as His children is to act justly. Because God is fair & God always rights what is wrong, He requires us to do the same for others. So many people are hurting so badly from being mistreated & abused, that as followers of Christ we have an opportunity to help restore in them the knowledge of the Lord and His everlasting love for them.

The next thing the Lord requires of us is to love Him & others with kindness & mercy. Take a look around you & notice the current state of the world, now more than ever before people need to be loved. They need to be shown the goodness & mercy of God. For it is the goodness of God not judgement that leads people to Him & repentance. Our job is not to find fault in others but to be ministers of the Truth & conduits of His love. Because God has shown us unfathomable kindness & mercy, He expects & requires us to do the same!

The last but not least thing in Micah 6:8, that the Lord requires from us, is to humble ourselves & walk humbly with Him. Humility is the attitude of your heart & mind that God requires of those who love & follow Him. So to walk humbly with Him means we should depend on Him rather than ourselves & abilities. Instead of having pride in our own capabilities & strength in what we can bring or do for Christ, we need to recognize that no amount of personal sacrifice can replace a heart that is fully committed to Christ & His will for you!
