*1 Thessalonians 5:16 *
“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Because we live in a fallen world where blessings & sorrows intermingle. It is vitally important to protect your thankfulness. A constant focus on what is wrong or what could go wrong, leads to feelings of defeat & despair. One’s mind & attitude can quickly become dark & dreary by neglecting the practice of giving thanks to God. When your not thanking God. You will go through your day not only seeing gray but you may completely miss out on the beauty & brightness all around you.
When your mind is occupied with thanking God, you have no time for worrying or complaining. If you practice thankfulness to God consistently, negative thought patterns will gradually grow weaker & weaker. You will start to see more of God and His goodness in every situation & circumstance you face. Your attitude will quickly shift of one of anger or despair. To one of joy & thankfulness, knowing that God is with you always! So next time things start to go awry, stop to pray & thank God. A grateful heart is what opens the door for Gods peace to flood your soul. It this peace from Him, that will carry you through whatever you may face.
