Most of the time when someone asks me how I am doing, I try to respond with “I am blessed & highly favored”. Which at times is met with a funny or confused look. I realized that a lot of people don’t really understand what the favor of God is or how they can have & walk in it. To me, the favor of God is the tangible evidence that one has the approval of the Lord. The word favor means, “Approval” & also, ” An act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.” When we as individuals show favor to another person, we want to be with them & around them, taking delight in their company. In that same way God shows favor to those who will submit & humble themselves before Him. Those who are obedient & take delight in bringing honor to Him.
How can you get the favor of God you might ask..? Well to put it quite simply, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ & Surrender your life / will to Him. You receive & experience the favor of God in your life when your heart, words & actions line up with His word. For you see, the Lord invites us to seek His favor by humbling our hearts before Him. God seeks out those who love Him & keep His commands so that He can show FAVOR to them (Bless, Guide and Protect). Those who are obedient & favored by God, know that even in the midst of difficultly & struggle that nothing can happen to them that is not part of His plan & purpose. Therefore they are walking in joy knowing that they are blessed despite what their circumstances look like.
When your hearts desire is to please God more than yourself & others, there is no limit to the favor that Lord can & will bestow upon you. You see my friends its not just a season of God’s favor you can walk in, it is a lifetime of His favor that is yours for the taking. He wants nothing more than for you to walk daily in His Favor & Blessings. If you draw near to Him, I promise… He will draw near to you.!
