*COLOSSIANS 1: 13-14* AMP
13) [ The Father ] has delivered & drawn us to Himself out of the control & domain of darkness & has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14) In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [ which means] the forgiveness of our sins.
This past weekend was such a beautiful reminder for me of God’s Miraculous POWER. The transformation the Lord has done in my life is my is nothing short of mind blowing. I still can’t believe sometimes that this life I live of redemption & recovery that the Lord’s has blessed me with is mine. On Saturday my husband & I went to observe a local art show. To most it probably would have been a typical outing, viewing some cool art work. But to me, it was WAY MORE than that. To me it was powerfully overwhelming in the most wonderful of ways. It was A fun & joyous day that I can look back on say….”I WAS AWAKE & FULLY PRESENT!”
Being able to say that statement matters so much to me. Because you see, I had spent 8 out of the almost 10 years I have been with my husband. In a drunken alcoholic stupor/ haze. Not remembering a whole lot due to that fact. I had not been fully awake or present in my entire adulthood until my diagnosis & then coming to salvation through Jesus Christ. I had missed out on so many Amazing & Beautiful things that I could have experienced with my, Oh so patient husband. All I can say now is, PRAISE & GLORY to GOD for giving me this Second chance at life & the clarity of mind that being Sober has afforded me. I share this with you for 2 reasons.
1) To let know of God’s REDEMPTIVE POWER & the DELIVERANCE that comes through faith in CHRIST!
2) That God is NO Respecter of persons. And if He did this for me, He Can & Will do this for you or someone you love.
So don’t give up if your struggling. For God is patiently & lovingly waiting for you. And If your praying for a loved one suffering from addiction. I encourage you to not give up as well. Keep praying & believing for their deliverance. Prayer is the reason I am ALIVE, SAVED & SOBER TODAY!
